Field trip & blog to follow

The field trip was pretty chaotic but fun! We went to the Photo Epicenter, SF Camerawork gallery, Jack Hanley Gallery, Rayko Photo Center, and the finale was the top of the Marriot downtown SF where we saw gorgeous views of the city. Yelena, Valerie, Sam, and Millie we missed you! I posted some of the shots I took on my flickr account if you want to check them out.

Also, Jessica sent this link my way to share with you. It's a great blog about photojournalism and getting your start as a professional photographer. Be sure to check it out!

Mayumi Hamanaka will sub class this Friday so please be in the lab at 9:30a ready to view her work. She will show her work so please research her artwork and be prepared to ask her questions. You will have open lab time to work on your Day in the Life assignment. You may shoot but it would be a better use of the lab time to have shot some already to show Mayumi and get feedback before going out to shoot again.

PDN Photo of the Day

I want everyone in the class to submit one photograph to this site:

http://www.pdnphotooftheday.com/

It will make you famous. I promise.*

*Ok, it might not make you famous but it will get one of your photographs looked at by a professional photo editor. That's worth something, right?

A Day in the Life

Make a series of 4-8 images that explore "one day" in the life of a subject that interests you. This can be one person or a certain group of people but you must photograph a wide variety of activities that take place regularly in this person/group's life. You may photograph over any length of time and edit to create a diverse representation of this "day in the life." You may choose to include captions or not. Shoot at least 250 images and after careful editing, post all final images to your blog by Friday, 3/6. Turn in all contacts (flattened jpgs) to the instructor's drop box in a folder labeled: LastName_Assign3.
